Grievance Officer

How to raise a complaint about content, data handling, or the Flowgento service, and the timelines we commit to under Indian law.

1. Grievance Officer

In accordance with Rule 3(2) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and Section 8(10) of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, eMarinersApp (operating Flowgento) has appointed the following Grievance Officer:

2. What you can raise

  • Complaints about content transmitted through or hosted on the Flowgento service.
  • Requests and complaints about your personal data — access, correction, erasure, withdrawal of consent, or nomination — under the DPDP Act, 2023.
  • Concerns about how a business using Flowgento has contacted you on WhatsApp. Note that the business is the Data Fiduciary for its own customer data; we will forward your complaint to them and assist within our role as processor.
  • Any other grievance relating to the service, these legal pages, or our handling of your information.

3. How to file a grievance

Email support@flowgento.com with the subject line "Grievance", or write to the postal address above. Please include:

  • Your name and a contact email or phone number.
  • The WhatsApp number or account the grievance concerns (if applicable).
  • A description of the issue, with dates, screenshots, or message references where possible.
  • What outcome you are seeking.

4. Timelines

  • Acknowledgement: within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Resolution: within 15 days of receipt, as required by Rule 3(2)(a)(i) of the IT Rules, 2021 (amended 2022); in any case no later than 30 days for data-related grievances.
  • Requests to remove content depicting a person in a sexual act or impersonation (Rule 3(2)(b)) are actioned within 24 hours.

5. Escalation

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Grievance Appellate Committee constituted under the IT Rules, 2021 within 30 days of our decision, or the Data Protection Board of India for matters under the DPDP Act, 2023.
